Somehow I can’t live without anymore….without a one little word per year. If someone would have told me 10 years ago, that I will have a word per year, I would have tapped my forehead. Why and what for?
When I started 4 years ago with a word, I wanted to see what’s in it for me, without a class and somehow halfhearted. The outcome was reflecting the input. There wasn’t that much “change”. Hence, the year after, I had bought the one little word class by Ali Edwards and managed to keep up with it throughout the year. Keeping up means dealing with the monthly tasks and dealing with the word. And behold, there was a “shine” coming up in myself and my life. Based on “create”, my last year’s goal was to create a life I love again. Shortly before New Year’s Eve I went back to my 17 questions and realized that almost all came true. Ago year ago, I wouldn’t have imagined this. Yes, it really happened. Still can’t believe it. You can read more about this on my “create” blogpost.
Another year has started and I have a new one little word: less. Minimalism is something I think about already a little while. When there is too much scrapbooking material, I have the impression that it is smothering me and my creativity. Maybe you remember that about a year ago, I had counted my scrapbooking material. Meanwhile, the impression of being smothered extended to almost everything…too many clothes…too much stress…too much pain in the back and stomach issues etc. this was also triggered by a book and a conversation.
For my birthday I asked for “the life-changing magic of tidying” by Marie Kondo. Non, I did not want to become tidying professional, I was more interested in minimalism and decluttering. Though this book had such an influence, there are some thoughts and ideas which were a bit over the top for me. But I just ignored those. Further, Frau Bergmolch told me, that she could deal again with dairies since she is doing low carb. When thinking about it, this sounded logic to me: eating less carb, thus less sugar, allows the body to digest the sugar within milk as he is not overwhelmed by all the other sugar. I was surprised that I haven’t heard about this before but it was worth testing. Thus, I started my low carb experiment: recently I am backing my own bread and eat almost no pasta, rice or general bakery products. And guess what, first tests are promising. Nevertheless, this protein powder is not my taste. Soon, I will participate in a clean eating class by Hannah Frey. Maybe this works better for me. When I understand that idea properly, it’s about not eating refined sugar or wheat. I am looking forward to it, not only the cooking class, also what “less” will bring into my life this year.
This time, my blog post became a bit longer. Thank you so much for reading through. Now, I am having a little surprise for you: during the christmas vacation, I decluttered my creative corner and put everything that was too much for me into a box. Now, there are patterned paper, stamps, and embellies in this box. I would like to give away this box. It is too much for me taking a photo of everything and selling it 2nd hand, but I imagine that there is someone who would be happy about the box. Thus, if you would like to receive this box with scrapbooking and mixed-media material, then just tell me in the comments. If there is only one person interested, I will send the box to her (within Germany, for international shipping, I need to check on the shipping costs upfont), if there are more, I will draw random.
