Here we go with a new project…in a danidori, hence a notebook in the size of the traveler’s notebooks, but from Dani Peuss. I was curious about the 120 g paper, as it should be suitable for mixed-media and watercoloring. At least I had seen pages with that for example at Frau Pony and others on instagram.
Somehow I am starting a lot of new projects this year…looks like as if there is a connection to my one little word “create”. Who knows. This project is about handlettering of nice quotes. I want to document some of those many wonderful quotes I am collecting on pinterest, just outside pinterest…on beautiful pages.
That’s how my handlettering pages look like in a kind of exercise book. These pages are full of handlettering, from top to bottom. Some of them look good, but the whole thing doesn’t look nice at all, too crowdy, too messy. Hence, now I am creating a notebook full of nicely handlettered pages. Here are my first ones:
Then, I was worried that I will make an error or I mess up a whole page….and right after having thought this, it already happened. What to do in this case? I just glued something on top and designed the page that you (hopefully) don’t see the mistake anymore. Or do you spy anything?
In case you might think, I just have a phrase in my head and just write it down. Well, it’s not like that…every word, every phase needs practice and planning in order that everything looks nice and harmonic. It sometimes happens that I practice while sitting in a lecture at the university….plan some more details at home before I finally create the page in my Danidori.
Have you already tried handlettering? Or do you like to learn it?
