Do you know this situation, you see a layout and want to make something similar…you immediately have your layout in mind. This happend to me when I saw the layouts from Stephanie Schütze. I loved the cut out persons and finally had a solution for my carolers layout. I did not like the photo I wanted to scrap. The background was too grey and did not fit to the carolers…but as this was the only photo from me being a caroler (back in the 80s), I wanted to use it. At this sort of volunteer job organized by the church, we went from house to house on Epiphany, sang a song and said a poem to collect money for supporting some charity organization or project. Many also gave us some sweets, to thank us for our commitment.
As said above, I didn’t like the background. You see what I mean, right? Get rid of it….which took some time to cut these tiny shapes. But when there is an inspiration, there is a way…no matter if it takes a little longer. The idea with the stars behind the foto came from pinterest a while ago, where I saw the little bunny card from stempelheldin.
Being cut out, the carolers are more visible, don’t you think? In my opinion, they even shine a bit…ooops, there it is again, my one little word….these days I bump into it every second..everything seems to shine.
During editing the photos for this post I realized that I already used a cut-out photo on the layout of our trip to maastricht. At that time, I did not know Stephanie’s layouts.
