It takes an eternity until I finish a layout….I am looking relatively long for the right paper and embellies…once found, then I move them around on my desk before finally starting. To me it is a mystery, how others create wonderful layouts within 30 minutes. For me, it is important, that the colors match to those on the photos and that the whole layout is not too crowded or too multicolored. For this layout I wanted to use these three photos. Their colors are more subtle, only the blue sky sticks out a bit.
The wood veneer houses, I found and bought 2nd hand, when I already knew about out trip to Maastricht.I really wanted to use them for this layout, as they looked typical Dutch to me.
Together with the 3 photos, everything looked crowded for me…too crowded…as said before, I prefer more empty layouts. Hence, the big photos got reduced by one, but I added one small of J and myself. The big photos and houses emphasized the vertical, thus I added blue-cream-colored paper horizontally.
Again everything was too crowded for me…you start to understand, why a layout takes ages for me 🙂 I reduced the paper to stripes…but which should I take?
Maybe the paper selection is faster when the alphas are decided….and which alphas fit better now?
At the end, I die cut the alphas, as the bought once were to small or not golden…and after all this paper moving and so on the layout was finished at some point of time and I was content with it. Yay! Do you experience the same when creating a layout? Or are you one of those 30-minutes-layout-masters?
